12 Essential Counter-Strike 2 Commands You Need to Know

The CS 2 (Counter-Strike 2) commands allow us to access the console and make changes to the game. There are several that are very useful and will help us a lot in our games. None of the commands presented are cheats and can be used without problems in competitive mode . Changes to FPS, radar and audio, or enabling the quick switch can make a big difference in gameplay. But before using the commands, we will need to activate the console.

activate console

To activate the console, you must first go to the game settings or options, then change the “ Activate developer console” option to “ Yes ”. Next, it is advisable to go to the “Keyboard/Mouse” settings and, at the very end, assign a key to “Enable console”. This way we will be sure to know how to access it. Beware of repeated touches!

Already assigned the key, we are ready to know the 12 essential commands that will help us play better in Counter-Strike 2. It’s good to remember that everything we implement in the console will be saved .

+cl_show_team_equipment 1

If we activate this command we will be able to see what equipment our teammates are using. The information will appear above their heads and allow us to see them even through walls or smoke . In the game options, you can assign this functionality to a key; however, once you release the key, it will deactivate. On the other hand, using the command is more useful because it will keep it activated.

If at any time you prefer to disable it, assign a value of “0” to the command.

cl_radar_always_centered 0

By default, the radar is always centered on our position (left in the image). Disabling this command will allow us to have the radar centered on the map (right), and will give us a broader perspective of the action to better anticipate enemies. In the image you can see a comparison with the option enabled and disabled.

voice_scale 0.3

Who hasn’t had loud players who won’t stop shouting throughout the match? By activating this command we can lower the voices of the rest of the players to a reasonable level. We will continue to listen to our team, but we will be able to concentrate more on the game.

net_graph 1

This is a must-have command for all CS 2 players. If we activate it we will have very useful information such as the FPS (frames per second) or our ping (response time between server and client, in milliseconds). This way we will know how the different graphics options affect us to optimize our game, and if our Internet connection suffers.

net_graphpos

This command and the next one are linked to the previous one. Some players do not like having this information in the default position, i.e. bottom right (with a value of “1”). With this command, if we give it the value “0”, we will move the information to the left. With a value of “2”, we will move it to the center.

net_graphproportionalfont

Some players find that the information takes up a lot of screen space, which is annoying. If we apply a value of “0”, this command allows us to reduce the font size to a smaller one. By default, the assigned value is “1”.

fps_max 0

Gamers attach great importance to the highest possible FPS . We know the difference between playing at 30, 60 or 120 FPS! Therefore, it is recommended to set a value of “0”, to eliminate the limit imposed by the game itself. However, to take full advantage of this feature, you will have to go to the graphics options and deactivate the “Wait for vertical synchronization” option.

cl_righthand

At first glance, this command may not seem very useful, but let’s not be fooled. It has been proven that some players are more comfortable with the left-handed setup , either because they are left-handed themselves or because it helps them aim better. It is recommended to try the values “1” and “0” and see for yourself how it works better.

cl_disablefreezecam 1

If we enable this command, we will disable the killcam that shows you who killed you. For many players, it’s boring, boring and pointless, right? And since none of us like to be eliminated, there’s nothing worse than seeing who did it!

lier

This command allows us to assign a command or action to a key . As an example, we will use the “cl_righthand” command. If we want to test if we are more comfortable with one configuration or another, we can write in the console:

bind “N” “toggle cl_righthand 0 1”

In this way, by pressing the “N” key we will change between left-handed or right-handed configuration. We can also assign different commands and actions to the same key. For example:

lier “N” “cl_righthand 0 ; net_graph 1”

Enable quick change (quick weapon change)

Is AWP your weapon of choice? If so, you know how important rapid change is. For those of you who don’t know, it’s about switching to another weapon and immediately switching back to the old one . This way we reduce the delay between shots. Every millisecond is precious to eliminate your enemies and achieve victory. Here’s how to enable this option using the “alias” and “bind” commands in the console:

alias “+knife” “slot3”

alias “-knife” “lastinv”

link “Q” “+knife”

You are ready to win the duels between snipers!

untie

Finally, we may make mistakes when assigning commands and actions to a key. This command allows us to deactivate the function(s) of the key . It is recommended to avoid the “unbindall” variant altogether, as it will disable all keyboard and mouse bindings.

These are the 12 essential commands in CS 2. Try different combinations, activate or deactivate different controls, and you will see that they will help you play better. Come on, it’s time to win games!
